Meet Me in Paris - an International Artist Holiday October 25 - November 2, 2010

 

Together with fellow artist Victor Navarro, Annie Margarita will be traveling to Paris, France to show in the Tucson-Paris Cultural Exchange Art Show - "Bridging Cultures" in October 2010.

 

Annie and Victor are extending their trip to offer the "Meet Me in Paris" - International Artist Holiday! Please come join us to enjoy Paris the way we have discovered, living the Artist's Life! Sign up early, this tour group is limited to 10 guests!

 

Tentative Itinerary for Paris

 

We will be spending 9 days 8 nights in the heart of Paris at the Normandy Hotel next to the Louvre! Within walking distance of all the best sights, we will be living as Artists, enjoying picnics, painting on the Seine, visiting museums and palaces!

 

Day One - Arrive in Paris, France where we will get our bearings, discover nearby shopping, have a picnic in the Tuileries gardens, and enjoy a quiet evening with dinner.

Day Two - We discover the Louvre! Tour the huge collection of artifacts, paintings, and sculpture in this beautiful palace. We will have lunch in the basement cafe. After complete exhaustion from having so much fun, we have the option of taking a dinner cruise on a riverboat.

 

Day Three - We tour the beautiful artwork at Musee d'Orsay. Discover the Impressionist painters at the old train station that has been converted into a world class museum! We have lunch while sitting along the Seine river. Guests can choose to stroll Paris after wards. Neighborhood cafe for dinner.

 

Day Four - We travel to the beautiful Palace Versailles with our easels! Guests will have a choice to take the 1/2 day tour of the apartments and Hall of Mirrors, then be able to paint in the afternoon in the formal gardens or take the full day tour and see most of the palace! We will have a picnic lunch in the gardens. We return to Paris and have dinner at a Provencal restaurant.

 

Day Five - We grab our easels and hit the town. We will take a walking tour down the beautiful river Seine, check out Notre Dame, Hotel DeVille and the Latin Quarter. It will be Saturday, when the booksellers and artists will have their wares for sale along the river! We'll have a picnic at the Luxembourg gardens and - have a relaxing day. Dinner will be at a neighborhood Ethnic restaurant.

Day Six - We travel to Montmartre neighborhood to view the Sacre Coeur cathedral in the morning light. Artists will paint while others sip their Cafe Lattes in the lovely square. You will enjoy the nuns singing their hymns...a truly spiritual morning! Guests can join the Sunday services if they wish. We will have a lunch in one of the cafes, go shopping and leisurely make our way back to city Center. Guests can make a more formal choice for dinner.

 

Day Seven - We get on a private van and travel to the Loire valley, tour chateaus, vineyards and wineries. We will have lunch in a local cafe. Return late to Paris for dinner.

 

Day Eight - We take a walking day in Paris. Guests will be able to leisurely stroll along the Seine river to the Eiffel Tower, seeing Hotel des Invalides where Napoleon is buried along the way. We dine at a local cafe for lunch, and take a different route down the Champs Elysees from the Arc de Triompe back through the Place de Concorde, shopping along the way. Dinner is casual in one of the cafes near the hotel.

 

Day Nine - Return to USA.

 

 

Costs

 

Meet Me in Paris Tour - $2,000. Trip includes 8 nights lodging at the Normandy Hotel in Paris, France. All museum fees, trip and entrance to Versailles Palace, trip and tour of the Loire Valley. Tour guidance throughout the trip with Annie Margarita and Victor Navarro. Tour price is based on double occupancy. Single and Deluxe double occupancy are extra.

 

Tour does not include: airfare, transfer to and from airport, taxes and meals. We will be looking for a group rate on airline travel. Price does not include optional River cruise and dinner.

 

There are many smaller museums, operas, theatres, etc. in Paris that you may also enjoy. Ask Victor or Annie for more information if needed.

 

The tour is intended to see Paris on an intimate level with local inexpensive cafes, picnics and most meals shared as a group. We will be sharing paint supplies, but guests should bring their own dry mediums, brushes, a lightweight portable folding easel and paper or canvas.
